Crop a photo
Crop freely or use a fixed ratio such as 1:1 or 4:5.
Use crop under refinements to keep the part of a photo you need. This page starts with a 1:1 ratio. After selecting a photo, you can adjust its crop area. Each photo has its own refinement settings.
Available ratios include free, 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, and an ID photo ratio. The ID option uses 3.5:4.5 proportions; it does not guarantee a physical print size in centimeters or compliance with submission rules.
You can also rotate or flip the image horizontally or vertically. Size and format settings apply to the output too. You can apply a selected photo’s crop ratio to the batch, but the tool does not automatically locate the same subject in every photo.
How to use
- Select a photo and open crop under refinements.
- Choose a ratio and adjust the area.
- Check the composition and pixel dimensions, then download.
Tip
ID photos may have requirements for background, face position, and dimensions beyond the aspect ratio. Check the destination’s rules yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Which crop does the starting button apply?
It starts with a square 1:1 ratio. You can change to another ratio or a free crop in refinements.
How is cropping different from resizing?
Cropping keeps part of the image. Resizing changes the number of pixels in the remaining image.
Can I crop several photos to the same ratio?
You can apply the selected photo’s crop ratio to all images. Check the area retained in each photo.
Are iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos supported?
Yes. The first image in a HEIC/HEIF file is decoded in your browser. Keep original format saves it as JPG. If decoding fails, convert the photo to JPG and try again.
